The North American Hockey League (NAHL) will host their annual Top Prospects Tournament for the 2011-12 season in Troy, Michigan. The NAHL Top Prospects Tournament is an annual event which showcases some of the best talent the NAHL has to offer, while providing participating student-athletes unparalleled competition and exposure to the college and professional coaches and scouts.
The 2012 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will be held from February 20-22, 2012 at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Michigan.
At the event, six teams comprised of the NAHL's top committed and uncommitted college players, including those recognized on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau's "Players to Watch" list for 2012 draft-eligible players, which was released in October, will play a three-game round robin. Five teams will be comprised of players of each of the five divisions in the NAHL that are nominated by their coaches. The sixth team will be a 'young guns' team, featuring some of the best younger talent (1993, 1994, 1995 birthday's) currently playing in the NAHL.
The North American 3 Hockey League (3HL) will also have representation at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, as eight teams from the 3HL's eastern conference will play four regular season games in their own Eastern Showcase from February 19-22, 2012 at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Michigan.
The NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will also feature the North American Prospects Hockey League (PHL) Championship Tournament Series, in which all Midget Major, Midget Minor and Bantam Major teams will compete for a league championship in their respective divisions from February 17-20, 2012 at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Michigan.
